Southeast Tennessee Resource Development & Conservation (RC&D) Regional Envirothon

Southeast Tennessee Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) Regional Envirothon is an annual environmental competition for high school students. The Envirothon encourages student engagement and investment into natural resource conservation issues through good spirited competition. The Envirothon advocates for farmers and educates participants by emphasizing the importance of understanding and conserving natural resources that are fundamental to agricultural production and human society as a whole. This competition offers a unique forum for discussing these topics in that it encourages and rewards diligent study, hands-on learning and experimentation, and involvement in natural resource conservation issues and discussions with the goal of better understanding how they affect agriculture and human society.

Study Materials are located on the TN RC&D website.

Hosted on April 3rd, 2025, there were 9 teams present from 8 schools across the Southeast Tennessee Region that participated in the annual Regional Envirothon Competition. Each team competed by demonstrating their knowledge in the subjects of Soils, Aquatics, Wildlife, Forestry, and the current issue of “Roots and Resiliency: Fostering Forest Stewardship in a Canopy of Change” (current issue changes annually).
